Pleasantville Animal Hospital Of Fallston

I would not recommend this vet based on my experience with the care my cats received here. Over time, I became increasingly concerned that their exams were not thorough and that important health issues were being overlooked. My biggest concern involves my cat’s heart condition. He had been taking heart medication. After a follow-up with a cardiologist from CVCA back in 2021 we received great news that his heart measurements had returned to normal. This vet had record of these results and 2-3 years later randomly advised me to discontinue his heart medication since it didn’t seem like it was needed. I trusted that recommendation because it came from a veterinarian. What concerns me most in hindsight is that there was no follow-up or monitoring after his medication was discontinued. He later developed heart problems again and ultimately required emergency veterinary care. Knowing what I know now, I am extremely uncomfortable with how his cardiac care was handled. I understand that a vet cannot predict every change in an animal’s condition, but I wish I had been advised to follow up with his cardiologist before discontinuing his medication or that there had at least been a plan to monitor him afterward. I also have concerns about the thoroughness of the routine exams my cats received here. We are always told as pet owners to do annual wellness exams and how important they are, however dental issues were not adequately brought to my attention, and I have since learned that all of my cats have tartar buildup/dental problems that need attention. Between the dental problems and what happened with my cat’s heart condition, I feel that important aspects of their health were overlooked. Pet owners rely on their vet to identify concerns that we may not recognize ourselves and to guide us appropriately when a pet has an existing medical condition. I ended up losing confidence in the care my cats were receiving even before these issues were brought to my attention and decided to take them elsewhere.

Amazing care. Great staff. We came here on a referral from a friend and we were not disappointed.
