Jarrettsville Veterinary Center

In the beginning was a great place, they discriminate, or should I say the owner and office manager does. Did so much for the clinic only to be told I have to find care elsewhere for my daughter’s hospice service dog, then they talk crap. Owner doesn’t like freedom of speech, she blocks you. However Dr. Morgan and Autumn are simply the BEST!!

Shame on this veterinary clinic. I was incredibly disappointed by the complete lack of willingness to help with something so simple. My dog recently had surgery, and I contacted the company that manufactures the surgical recovery shirts I wanted to purchase for him. Because the company only sells directly to veterinary practices, they specifically instructed me to contact a veterinary clinic in my area that carries their products and purchase the shirt through them. I called this clinic, explained the situation, and made it clear that I simply wanted to PURCHASE a surgical recovery shirt. I was paying for it this wasn’t a request for medical advice, medication, treatment, or a favor. They refused to sell it to me because my dog is not a patient there. So I even had a friend whose dogs ARE established patients at this clinic call them. She explained that she was their client and offered to purchase the surgical shirt herself under her own account for me. They still refused to sell it to her. At that point, I genuinely have to question the reasoning. What exactly is accomplished by refusing to sell a basic recovery product even to one of your own established clients when someone is simply trying to care for a dog following surgery? It also makes me question where this policy ends. If a pet needed a particular food or another basic care product that was only available through a veterinary clinic, would you refuse to sell it simply because that animal wasn’t already your patient? Would you potentially allow a pet to go without something it needed when the owner is standing there ready and willing to pay for it? You are selling a product and making money from the sale the person purchasing it is simply trying to take care of their animal. My own veterinary clinic would never hesitate to help another pet parent purchase an available retail product simply because their pet receives veterinary care elsewhere. And thankfully, another veterinary clinic that carries the exact same surgical shirt felt the same way. I explained the situation, and they immediately said absolutely, I could purchase it. No unnecessary hassle. They were kind, helpful, and accommodating, and I was more than happy to give them my business. I wasn’t a patient of this practice before this interaction, and after this experience, I certainly wouldn’t consider becoming one. Sometimes an interaction this simple tells you everything you need to know about how a business chooses to treat people. This one spoke volumes!

I just felt like they didn't do enough for my cat. They had me bring him back twice and repeated the same blood work only to tell me he had cancer. That didn't give me much information at all and they gave me random medication the even the vet said probably won't help. Later another vet told me the symptoms my cat had more easily treatable. I guess this place was too busy to find out if he had something that was treatable instead of repeating basic blood work. I'm broken hearted my cat may have passed away too soon.

I would like to highly recommend Jarrettsville Vet Center and specifically, Dr. Krista Magnifco and her team. Navigating an asthma diagnosis with a possible nasopharyngeal polyp was cost prohibitive for me in Washington DC. I sent Dr. Magnifico an email explaining my situation and having spent 2000-3000 dollars on my rescue kitten I still had no resolution. To my amazement she responded the next AM. Although it meant driving 80+ miles, having her get hands on my Marco was nonnegotiable given it was going to cost me $2K for a CT scan in DC. Upon arrival, the staff and her team were very attentive and took wonderful care of Marco. Dr. Magnifico examined Marco, she spoke to me about his asthma and in her opinion, he did not have a polyp and instead he was a cat with asthma. That was the 1M dollar question I needed answered. This clinic is a rare bird; its focus is not revenue generation like most corporate vet clinics but instead the clinic is focused on caring for your pet(s) wellbeing. I was satisfied with my outcome and will keep her in mind for future needs that pop up with all my pets. Jen DiGiacinto
