New Market Animal Hospital

Always caring, compassionate and understanding of financial situations.

Dr. Hopkins and the entire team at New Market Animal Hospital are absolutely phenomenal and I’m so grateful I happened to find them. I noticed on a Saturday evening that my corgi Sunny, had a broken tooth. I was extremely worried because I had no idea how long he had been dealing with it and I knew my usual vet would be closed until Monday. New Market Animal Hospital popped up when I searched for somewhere that might be open and to my surprise, they were not only still open that evening but also open on Sunday. I immediately called, explained what was going on, and they were able to get Sunny in the very next day. Dr. Carrier confirmed that Sunny had a slab fracture with pulp exposure and that the tooth needed to come out as soon as possible. They did his bloodwork that same day and were even able to schedule his extraction for Monday. What I really appreciated was that they never once pressured me to have the procedure done there. They told me I was welcome to call my regular vet Monday morning to see if they could accommodate him, while still keeping Sunny on their schedule as a backup. After how kind and accommodating the entire team had already been to us despite never having seen Sunny before, I knew I wanted them to take care of him. I dropped him off Monday morning, and they took amazing care of him throughout the entire procedure and recovery. Then came part two… 😅 Because of what happened with Sunny, I decided to thoroughly check my other corgi Stormy’s teeth. Unfortunately, I found what looked like the exact same problem, although hers was a little less obvious to me. I called New Market again to explain my now very familiar situation and they managed to get Stormy seen that same day while I was already coming in to pick Sunny up. Dr. Hopkins confirmed that Stormy also had a slab fracture with pulp exposure as well as discussed Sunny’s recovery and how the procedure went. Neither dog had shown me obvious signs of dental pain so finding out that both had exposed pulp was heartbreaking. I had given them very hard chews such as antlers in the past and had no idea until this happened how much of a risk those could pose to their teeth. Needless to say, I learned that lesson the hard way and from now on, if I wouldn’t want to chew something with my own teeth with it, they won’t be chewing it either! Dr. Hopkins was able to schedule Stormy’s extraction just three days later. Her procedure went very smoothly and as I write this, I just brought her home and she is already doing great. She is finally resting. She wanted to play like nothing happened so I had to get her to calm down 😅. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hopkins and the entire team. Over the course of just a few days, they took two dogs they had never seen before, got both of them evaluated quickly, worked them into an already busy schedule, Dr. Hopkins performed both procedures, and they all treated them and myself with so much kindness throughout the entire ordeal. I am incredibly grateful for the care they gave Sunny and Stormy and for getting both of my babies on their way back to a pain-free life. Thank you all so much! We will absolutely be back although hopefully not again anytime soon. 🙂❤️
