Carney Animal Hospital

I love Carney Hospital. They really care about your animal.

My dog recently had surgery at this practice, and I am very disappointed with the care and communication we received afterward. The veterinarian stated that we did not follow post-operative instructions regarding follow-up appointments. However, after surgery, no one from the office called to check on my dog's recovery. In human medicine, it is common for a surgeon or staff member to follow up with patients after a procedure, especially when complications may arise. When I called the office to schedule a follow-up appointment, the staff counted the days incorrectly and advised me that my dog did not need to be seen for 14 days. This information turned out to be inaccurate. Additionally, I brought my dog to this office twice and paid approximately $200 per visit because she was vomiting. During those visits, no X-rays or ultrasound were performed, and the underlying cause of her symptoms was not identified. When her condition worsened, I took her to VEG Emergency, where they performed an ultrasound and X-rays and diagnosed pancreatitis. My dog required hospitalization for two days, and I ultimately spent over $9,000 to get her the treatment she needed. I also had a phone conversation with the veterinarian regarding these concerns. Unfortunately, rather than addressing my questions professionally, she spent much of the conversation yelling, which I found rude and unprofessional. Based on my experience, I will not be returning to this practice. I strongly encourage pet owners to ask questions, seek second opinions when necessary, and carefully monitor their pets if symptoms continue, as serious conditions may not always be identified during initial visits.
