Benson Animal Hospital: Randall C Benson Dvm

When I moved to Bethesda I thought Benson animal hospital was the perfect place for my dogs Daisy and Bosco to be taken care of. We have been going there for almost 2 years with no issues and even recommended the business to our neighbors. However I need to make sure pet owners are aware of what I just experienced. If you call in as an existing patient and say that if your dog is sick, like mine is right now, the front desk will let you know that since they are not an “emergency” hospital they don’t keep any sick visits available for their existing patients and there will be no offer of a waitlist in case someone cancels their appointment. To make matters even worse, I was told that my dog can’t even be seen tomorrow, but the following day. The lack of compassion and unwillingness to try to do something for my dog who is clearly not well was astounding but loud and clear. I will be taking my business somewhere elsewhere, which is a shame because Dr. Sophia Benson is so sweet, but there’s other vets that are also sweet and act with a sense of urgency, even when they are not technically an “emergency” hospital. Just know that if you’re an existing patient, it doesn’t mean anything to them.

Everyone was friendly and professional. Dr. Benson was very nice and informative.

Drs. Benson and colleagues have provided exceptional care to all our furbabies over 3 decades. Highly experienced and caring veterinarians. Wonderful care of our diabetic pup. No better vets anywhere around.

My dog has been going to BAH since 2019 and it’s only improved over that time. The office has been completely redone and looks great. Dr. Sophia Benson is a great addition. Very knowledgeable, patient and takes the time to answer questions.
