Had good experiences in the past with Dr. Weiss, but the new guy (Marcus Ressler) who has taken over the practice has made it apparent he cares much more about money than the well-being of the dogs. Further, the new guy is willing to lie to get more money, evidenced by our last (and final) visit to this practice, when he lied and told me my dog was required by law to get a $60 dollar exam (which lasted about 10 seconds) before she could get her rabies shot (which they charged an additional $50 dollars for, compared to the $20 dollars at our new vet). New guy will push very aggressively towards medication like Gabapentin, this is because he gets paid by these drug companies to push their drugs, regardless of if they would genuinely be good for a dog. Find a vet that truly cares about your animals!
UPDATE:
Marcus Ressler seems to have either no knowledge of or no care for Google Review policies, which clearly state "We do not allow merchants to: ...Discourage or prohibit negative reviews...". Instead, he pulled my phone number from patient records and called repeatedly to discuss my review. He also seems to favor straw man arguments over genuine responses, evidenced by the response of "We have in fact not raised any prices in the past year". This was, in fact, not a claim I ever made. Further, the statement "We also do not receive any compensation from pharmaceutical or equipment companies" is a carefully worded half-truth. This practice is involved in rebate/discount incentive programs with pharmaceutical companies, meaning they get the drugs at a lower price and mark them up substantially for customers. This means that Marcus Ressler is directly incentivized by these pharmaceutical companies to push whatever drug he can get for the cheapest amount and mark up the most.
I'll go even further and provide some seemingly much needed customer service advice. Marcus: when you respond to a genuine customer review (which this is, my family went to this practice for over ten years), negative or positive, you should be honest and professional. Instead you toed the line of violating Google Review policy, made straw man arguments, carefully worded mistruths, and ended the response with stating that legitimate concerns can be addressed directly, seemingly meant to call into question the legitimacy of my concern. Does Bradley Hills Animal Hospital not consider Marcus Ressler lying outright, directly to a customer, a legitimate concern? (This is a rhetorical question, you do not need to respond to it, I already know what your answer is)
To be clear, Marcus, you have no reason to be calling me or any phone number associated with me over my negative review. My review was honest, a value you should consider abiding by. You lied to my face, now you get a negative review as a direct consequence of that. If you didn't want the negative review, you should not have lied to my face. After meeting you, I am not surprised that people are leaving the practice (yes I know about the mass exodus, word gets around).
No further communication is required of you lot. Any continuation of telephone harassment will be reported to the appropriate authorities. I maintain my right to leave a honest review and refuse to be bullied or harassed into changing it.
My wife and I had a very negative experience here a few weeks ago and I wanted to provide an update. We had taken our 2 cats to Bradley Hills Animal Hospital and one cat had a serious reaction to their treatment. Since then, the second cat also had a serious reaction to the vaccine. We've spent over $2,000 in emergency and follow on treatments due to our visit to Bradley Hills Animal Hospital. When we requested their medical records so the ER could review which vaccines they took, BHAH never even responded. Not only terrible service and care, but they wouldn't even maintain basic ethical standards of transferring records. This is a new owner leveraging the great reputation of the prior Vet. Don't be fooled - stay away.
If you’re considering Bradley Hills Animal Hospital, be aware that Dr. Weiss has retired and sold the practice to Dr. Ressler. The awards and community accolades displayed in the office reflect Dr. Weiss’ tenure, not Dr. Ressler’s.
We learned about the change only when we brought our cats in for a routine well visit. During the exam, Dr. Ressler was unable to calm one of our cats enough to perform a physical examination, but we were still charged the full visit fee and told, “you paid for my visual exam.”
We were also uncomfortable with repeated negative comments about the former owner. After one of our cats became ill following a vaccination using a different product than the one previously administered, we returned to the practice for care. Our subsequent discussion about the charges and treatment left us dissatisfied with the communication, pricing, and professionalism.
When I raised concerns about what I considered an unfair charge, I found Dr. Ressler’s response unreasonable and unprofessional. Based on our experience, we will not be returning and cannot recommend this practice.
Dr. Ressler called me Sunday morning to ask me why I ranked my visit with a 1 rating. He was very combative and argumentative when I told him my reasons. He ended the phone call by stating if I have Charlie Weiss's cell phone number I can call him and Dr. Ressler ended the phone call by hanging up on me.
Zero professionalism and no way to run a practice.
Best of luck to him. He's running it into the ground and very sad after Dr. Weiss spent his life building it.
